🌸 FLORAL PUMPKIN CARE 🌸

Your floral pumpkin is made with a real pumpkin & dried florals. They are pretty much maintenance free but with a little care, can last well into the season…and maybe even well into the new year. (A few people have messaged to say they still have theirs from last fall!) 🤯

The #1 question I get is how long will my pumpkin last? This unfortunately isn’t something I can guarantee when we’re working with perishable products. But…

Here are a few tips to help keep your pumpkin looking beautiful for ask long as possible:

🌸 They do NOT require any watering.

🌸 Keep your pumpkin cool & dry. Avoid direct sunlight, heat vents & damp areas. Pumpkins last longest in cooler spaces & direct sunlight will fade your florals.

🌸 I recommend keeping your pumpkin indoors, but if you choose to display them outside, bring them in overnight. Morning dew and frost will damage the dried florals, causing them to wilt.

🌸 If you choose to display your pumpkin on a wooden shelf or table, I’d recommend placing something underneath as you may not notice them begin to rot and the moisture could cause damage to the wood.

That’s it! Super low maintenance!

🌸 Dahlia growers…TAG YOUR DAHLIAS NOW. 🌸

Before frost hits and those gorgeous blooms disappear and everything turns black and looks the same, take the time to make sure everything is labeled correctly (unless you don’t care and love planting a garden surprise 🤗 that’s cool too!). But trust me, future you will thank you when it’s time to dig, divide and store those tubers. I promise you, you won’t remember where things were planted. 😂

Here’s how I keep mine organized:

🌸 Planting Map:
In the spring when I plant my tubers, I draw a map where each variety is. I use this map as a reference to confirm as I’m tagging to make sure the blooms actually match what I have planted in that spot.

🌸 Tags:
Unless I have a full bed of the same variety, I tag each plant individually so there’s no guessing later. When you dig up clumps of tubers in the fall, everything looks the same. 🙆🏻‍♀️ the tags identity who’s who.

Lisi season has arrived!!!

Our “watch my flowers grow” series has come to an end for another season. I started these seeds back in December (I also bought some plugs as backup since this was the first time I had started lisi from seed) and 8 months later, we finally get to see these beauties bloom.

Lisianthus are truly a beautiful cut flower. I’m a BIG fan of the ruffled, frilly varieties & nothing compares to locally grown Lisianthus with their thick, sturdy stems bursting with blooms.

Sadly, we have had some issues with heavy, heavy rains knocking over the lisi this year (even with netting) and bending our straight stems (so much damage this year from rain), but they’re still just as beautiful and we can’t wait to share them with you!!! 🌸🌸🌸
